Puttur, 08 March 2016: Internal Quality Assurance Cell, Nature Club, Suraksha Consumer Forum and NSS unit of St Philomena College here jointly organized a programme to release ‘Environmental Audit Report’ at their Spandana seminar hall here on March 5.
The campus director of the College Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro released the Report and said, ‘Earth is our God, our mother. She is the basis for everything; our happiness, our sadness are all directly linked to Mother Earth. Civilizations come and go, Earth goes on forever.’
He also said, ‘Environment is very essential in every aspect of life. It is the duty of everyone to protect and preserve the environment.’
The proprietor of EnvOne Technologies Dinesh Mallya participated was guest of honor. He said, ‘Panchabhutas or the five elements - Earth, Water, Air, Agni and Sky have a lot of significance in the ancient scriptures of the orient. We do not own the nature, but owe the nature.’
The principal Professor Leo Noronha presided the programme.
NSS officer Professor Nagaraju, Assistant Professor of PG studies in Social Work Fr Prince, co-convener of Nature Club Professor Rakshitha R B, Assistant Professor of PG studies in Computer Science Professor Akshatha B and Assistant Professor in Economics Professor Harshitha P V were present on this occasion.
The convener of Internal Quality Assurance Cell Dr A P Radhakrishna welcomed the gathering. The convener of Suraksha Consumer Forum Professor Dinakara Rao delivered the preliminary address.
