Mangaluru, 08 Jan 2016: The need of the hour is to follow; live and let others live, in order to overcome communal disharmony and intolerance in the society, said sandalwood actor and director T S Nagabharana.
Nagabharana was speaking after launching newly-formed Vivek Bank during the function held at SDM College auditorium, here on Wednesday January 7. It was organized by Samarta Bharat.
‘India stands atoll because of cultural hierarchy, otherwise it would have been perished. There is no enmity among the people, tolerance prevails. It’s because since contemporary times, India followed simple and mutual respect. The friendliness extended in the society and other nations. Dasoha - that was followed by psalmist Basavanna is the living example,’ said Nagabharana.
Mangalore University registrar T D Kemparaju said, ‘The democratic India is rich in human resources and more youth. Despite the nation has advanced, the values in social, cultural, political and education are dwindling. The farmers, illiterate and unemployed don’t pose any threat to the country. Its irony the educated are a real threat. It indicates the education system has lapses that got to be reformed,’ said Kemparaju.
Nitte University vice chancellor Vivek Hegde and SDM College director Dr Devaraj were present at the dais.
G Muralidar Shenoy rendered the prayers. Vidushi Lata Nagaraj delivered the introductory address. Sanatana Natyalaya director Chandrashekar welcomed the gathering and compered the programme.
