Puttur, 29 Nov 2015: PG department of social work of St Philomena College, here, in association with Ashoka innovators for the Public will be organizing a National Conference - PHILOFERENCE-2015 on the theme ‘Social Innovation and Change Making: A way forward’ from December 3 to December 5.
Professor Satyajit Majumdar, chairperson, Centre for Social Entrepreneurship, School of Management and Labour Studies, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai will deliver the keynote address after inaugurating the event.
St Philomena College principal Professor Leo Noronha and chairperson of PG studies Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro will be guests of honour. Fr Alfred J Pinto, correspondent of the College will preside.
Shashikumar Velath Leadership Group member, vice-president, Framework Change, South Asia and Ashoka Innovators for the Public, will deliver the valedictory address.
Fr Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, chairperson of PG Studies will be the chief guest. Professor Leo Noronha, principal will preside.
Shashikumar Velath and Yashveer Singh of Ashoka Innovators for the Public, Professor James Rajanayagam, project consultant, Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship, IIT, Chennai will participate as resource persons.
The research scholars and teachers will present research papers on theme of the conference. The successful entrepreneurs and innovators would narrate their success stories. The conference also consists of collage, poster making, and social innovation idea pitching competitions.
The conference is organized under the leadership of Professor Prasanna Kumar, co-ordinator of PG department of social work and Fr Prince C P, convener of the conference. Dhananjay and Deepika are the student coordinators.
Practitioners, faculties and students from Social work, Economics, Management and members of NGO will participate as delegates.
