Mangaluru, 27 Nov 2015: ‘Education should broaden our mindsets to realize that all of us are Indians and all of us are united as one nation,’ said P B Acharya, Governor of Assam and Nagaland.
He was speaking after inaugurating NAMASTE- Centre for study of North-Eastern states, at K S Hegde Auditorium, Deralakate here on Thursday November 26.
‘The country should recognize the people of North-East and their issues. Even though the North-East region is rich in resources, they lack in proper utilization of it,’ he added.
Chancellor of Nitte University N Vinay Hegde glanced upon the connectivity between Nitte University and the North-East students through NAMASTE scheme.
He also added that the Governor of Assam and Nagaland, himself took the first initiative to establish the NAMASTE.
Dr S Ramananda Shetty, vice-chancellor of Nitte University welcomed the gathering. Professor Moodithaya delivered the vote of thanks.
