Moodubelle, 17 Sept. 2015: The Thirty sixth Sarvajanika Gaaneshotsava of Belle-Kattingeri villages began with Gana Homa and installation of the idol of Shri Ganesh at Geeta Mandir on Thursday, 17 September 2015. The three days long celebration of the festival is marked by various poojas, cultural and entertainment programmes and community meal on the second day.
Rama Acharya, President of the Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Samithi along with his wife and daughter participated in the Gana Homa conducted by the chief priest, Vedhamoorthy Ganesh Bhat. Soon after the pooja, the beautiful idol of Ganesh was installed on the specially prepared pedestal on the decorated stage.
The office bearers and members of the Sarvajanik Ganeshotsava samithi were present on this occasion.
Like in previous years, this year too the Melpete Friends have donated two silver teeth and two silver implements in two hands of the Ganesh ido costing Rs.17,500/-
The three days long Ganeshotsava iss packed with a number of religio-socio-cultural activities. On 17 September competitions such as drawing picture of Ganesh and devotional songs are being arranged. Besides these entertainment programme by the members of Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala Gramabhivruddhi Yojane and ‘Ranga Rang’ Rasamanjari from Ravindra Prabhu and his team have been organized.
On the second day, 18 September, besides poojas, there will be community meal or Maha Annasantarpane at 12.30 pm, fancy dress competition and ‘Tulunada Vaibhav’ from Mulki Yuva Vahini Artists.
On the third day, 19 September, the Ganesh Visarjan procession will begin at 5 pm which will end with the immersion of the Ganesh idol.
