Bantwal, 12 Jul 2015: The police department is committed to be ruthless on those who are trying to incite violence in order to create communal disharmony, said Bantwal rural sub-inspector Rakshit Gowda.
Rakshit was speaking during peace meeting that was held at town police station, B C Road, here on Saturday July 11. It was organized at the sideline of a protest to be held here on Monday July 13 and Eid celebrations in this week.
Rakshit urged the people to alert the police about any possible attacks that is likely to cause law and order disturbance. The mobile patrols are intensified in sensitive areas and additional police force will be deployed in the taluk, said Rakshit.
Bantwal town sub-inspector Nanda Kumar said that CCTV cameras are installed in select areas and urged the people not to listen to any rumors. The security will be provided to worship centers in case there is a threat, said Nanda Kumar.
The mobile patrol sub-inspector Chandrashekarayya plead the people to co-operate with police in maintaining law and order.
The probationary assistant sub-inspector Manjunat was present at the dais.
The town councilor Vasu Poojary, Praveen Bantwal and the leaders of different communities were present on the occasion.
