Udupi, 10 Apr 2015: Sri Madwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management (SMVITM), NSS unit and Youth Red Cross (YRC) wing, Bantakal, near here organized a special interaction and entertainment programme for the differently-abled students of Manasa Special School and Rehabilitation Center, Pamboor, recently.
SMVITM NSS co-ordinator senior Assistant Professor Dr Nagaraja Rao along with NSS faculty co-ordinators of NSS and YRC Reshma Hebbar and Narayana Nayak and student volunteers of the organizations handed over books, clothes and toys donated by the staff and students of the institute to Merul Premalatha, vice-principal of Manasa Special School.
NSS and YRC volunteers engaged the children at the school in various activities and games, which were thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by the children. Prizes were distributed to the children also.
Merul Premalatha expressed her deep sense of gratitude to SMVITM and the volunteers and appreciated the noble and thoughtful gesture of planning for and organizing such a memorable event for the inmates of the school.
