Bantwal, 28 Mar 2015: The pleas of villagers in order to repair their road since several years did not fulfilled even now. Although, both union and state governments are responding to the needs of rural people either by developing roads and other development works under different programmes, a few villagers face the dilemma. It applies to Allipade – Vogga linking road in Devashyapadoor village that comes under Navoor gram panchayat, near here.
Allipade – Vogga linking road is 3 kilometers connects Kuttikala, Noortady and Periyardota. The road from Periyardota to Vogga has been reasphalted @ Rs 25 lac under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. The road from Periyardota to Allipade has not been reasphalted since over 15 years. It lies in deplored state and unfit for motoring.
The villagers and students of this locality had to depend on this road to commute to their schools and town. A lone KSRTC bus that plies on this deplored road abruptly stopped its services. The auto rickshaw drivers refuse to ply on this road even while offered double the fare.
The locals hope the elected representatives take earnest interest in repairing their road that lies in deplored condition for long.
The road development works need about Rs 25 lac that zilla panchayat is not in a position to bear. I have requested district-in-charge minister to approve the road development works under some programmes. Hope the new road will fulfill the long pending demands of villagers.
