Mangalore, 28 Oct 2014: The technology has revolutionized the media. Meanwhile, the journalism students have a bright future provided they become technology-savvy in every sphere, said Dakshina Kannada district information officer Khadersha.
Khadersha was speaking after inaugurating http://mcjseminar.blogspot.in blog spot on National Seminar and Media Competitions – 2015 that was organized by the department of mass communications and journalism of Mangalore University at Mangalagangotri here on Tuesday October 28.
This is the IT era, one has to adapt without a choice. The knowledge about IT is essential as media is IT driven, said Khadersha.
The journalism students should not pursue the notion that they would be working in press media. Meanwhile, the technological innovations have revolutionized the media. It has opened up new avenues in journalism that was limited to press media. The websites of daily newspapers are quite successful. The internet users are steadily increasing everyday. Therefore, the need for journalism students to go along with technology, said Khadersha.
Khadersha also offered information on the different divisions at the information department and explained its work sphere.
The mass communications and journalism chairman Professor G P Shivaram in his presidential address offered information about the competitions that were organized during National Seminar.
Professor Wahida Sultan was present.
