Karkal, 17 Oct 2014: The youth are capable of bringing changes in the society, if they have social concern whilst they study. NSS camps facilitate the students to take interest in social service, said Karkal MLA V Sunil Kumar.
MLA Sunil was speaking after inaugurating Belman Government PU College NSS annual special camp held at Belady Aided Higher Primary School, near here on Thursday October 16.
‘The service has greater significance in India which cannot be seen in the world. We got to involve in social service to bring about social changes,’ said MLA Sunil.
Kantavar gram panchayat president Vanaja presided the programme.
ZP member Uday Kotian, Allama Prabha Peeta chairman Yashodar P Karkera, the College betterment Committee president Satish Mada, Mohandas Adyantaya, Rotary Club president K Suresh Rao, Yashwant Kamat, JCI vice president Sandeep V Poojary Abbanadma, litterateur Na Mogasale, Prema Mogasale, Vittal Shetty Belady were present.
The College principal Dr B Janardhan Bhat welcomed the gathering. NSS project officer Ranjit Kumar Shetty proposed vote of thanks. The lecturer Raghuram Nayak compered the programme.
