Mangalore, 16 Oct 2014: The Mogaveer community of Yelupatna Mogaveer Samyukta Sabha staged a sit-in in front of the office of Deputy Commissioner here on Wednesday October 15, to urge the police to arrest Satish Baikampady, who is the key accused in the murder case of Gangadhar Pangala without further delay.
Addressing the protesters, the community leader H Gangadhar Hosabettu, who was also attacked by miscreants a year prior to the murder of Gangadhar Pangala said, ‘The main conspirer is yet to be arrested. Today, we have protested with peace, but if the arrest of Satish Baikampady is delayed the police have to face the consequences. We had organized a peaceful protest demanding the arrest and also submitted a memorandum to the home minister and police commissioner through DC, but the accused Satish Bikampady is still absconding. The police department has failed to arrest the accused. Karnataka police has a good name and they were successful in nabbing various notorious criminals but in this case they are not showing any interest to arrest the accused.’
Mangaloru Hadinalkupatna Moogaveera Samyuktha Sabha president Rajiv Kanchan also addressed the gathering.
Other leaders of the community Dayanatha Kotyan, Vasudeva Salian were also present on the occasion.
