Dubai, Sept 29, 2014: Ten years have passed since the demise of Umesh Nanthoor, Dubai’s well-known Tulu language activist, actor, director and social activist. For friends and fans, his memory is still fresh, as he was fondly loved by all people irrespective of caste, creed and language.
To pay him a rich tribute, in rememberance of his contribution to Tulu and Kannada languages in the UAE, ’Sangama Kalavidaru’, the very own brainchild of Umesh Nanthoor, now being carried forward by its members, will present a unique show on Friday, October 3 at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium.
Noel D’Almeida, who is leading the Sangama Kalavidaru in organizing the programme told daijiworld that Umesh was very active among the Tulu, Kannada, and Konkani communities in the UAE, and was instrumental in starting Karnataka Sangha Sharjah, Sangama Kalavidaru while also supporting many associations in the UAE. To remember his contribution and pay a tribute, a musical evening comprising dances and skits by UAE’s talented artistes will be organized.
A famous Tulu drama writer, director and film producer Vijaya Kumar Kodialbail will be the chief guest. During the program a promo of ’ MADIME’ tulu movie will be released.
Karnataka’s famous compere Naveen Kumar Koppa who has conducted many shows in India and abroad will be the host for the evening.
MLC Ivan D’Souza will be the guest of honour for the event. He will also meet Kannadigas to discuss various issues. Ivan, one of the youngest politicians in Karnataka is representing Indian National Congress.
The organizers have guaranteed a programme that would be a first class family entertainment combined with a whole lot of comedy and music to enthrall the audience of UAE.
Ganesh Prasad, Raviraj Tantry, Rosal Sequeira, Harish Sherigar, Melvyn D’Souza, Joshal D’Souza, Sharath Ram, Shiva Kumar, Jamil, Dony Correa, Asha Correa, Akshata Rao, Mallika Bekal, JAMIL, Nikita Menezes, Bluma Pinto, Divyashree, Binil Thyagarajan, Sameer, Roshan Carol, Gopi Kamath and Ashwat Samuel will entertain the crowd through singing and music.
Dubai’s very own comedy artistes who rock the stage in Tulu, Konkani and Kannada skits Pradeep Barboza, Deepak Paladka and evergreen master comedian Chidananda Poojary along with Ashintha, Sandeep and Alphone Moodubelle will keep the audience busy through laughter sessions.
Arun Lobo of Feat Beat will provide the dance from his group.
Naveen Koppa, Sanana Naveen and Aruna Havanej will be invited artistes from India.
