Mumbai, Sep 22, 2014: Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) convened twelfth annual general body meeting, friendly meet and annual conferring of awards ceremony at Hotel Kohinoor Continental, Andheri (East) here on Saturday September 20.
CCCI presided Henry Lobo presided the meeting here on Saturday evening.
Ajmeer Bishop Pius D’Souza was the chief guest of the occasion.
Maharashtra state minority commission deputy chairperson Janet Lawrence D’Souza was the guest of honor.
Bishop Pius presented CCCI Top Awards to Edward Menezes (social service), Fr John Rumao (education), Dr Tanki F Tekkekara (social service),,Cynthia Baptista (social service), Shobha James Mendonca (woman entrepreneur) and Randal Romel (youth entrepreneur). Dr Richard Pereira read the recitation letters.
CCCI vice president Antony Sequeira, award Committee convener John D’Silva were present at the dais.
Speaking on the occasion, Bishop Pius said that Christians played vital role in social reform. Meanwhile, Christians also set an example to the society by serving the nation dutifully. Meanwhile, those who earn with just means their wealth will sustain longer than those who run after business with disregarding the family that is everything, said Bishop Pius.
Henry Lobo in his presidential address said that Christians are 98 percent literate but lack entrepreneurship. CCCI has been striving to promote entrepreneurship qualities of Christians for self sustenance, said Lobo.
CCCI founder president Vincent Mathias, vice president Albert W D’Souza, former Mumbai Polic commissioner Ronnie H Mendonca, James Mendonca Dubai, Catholic Sabha Mumbai vice president Lawrence D’Souza, Model Bank CEO Francis J A Vaz, entrepreneur Fredrick Mendonc, CCCI directors Lawrence Coelho, John Mathew, Johnson Terattil, Augustino G Fernandes, Walter Buthelo, Gregory D’Souza, advocate Pius Vaz and others were also present.
CCCI secretary Felix D’Souza presented the annual report. CCCI director Agnello Rajesh Atheide proposed vote fo thanks. Kenneth Sequeira and Lara Menezes compered the programme.
