Mangalore, Sep 06, 2014: The Alumni Association Mangalore Chapter of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Vamanjoor, here organized blood camp at College campus on the occasion of Teachers’ Day celebration, on Friday September 5.
Dr Ankith Garg, chief medical officer at KMC Blood Bank, here was the chief guest for the occasion.
SJEC designated-director Fr Ajith Menezes inaugurated the blood camp.
SJEC assistant director Fr Rohith D’Costa, campus counsellor Fr Alphonse Cardoza, vice principal Dr Rio D’Souza, student welfare and alumni affairs dean Dr Vincent Crasta and SJEC alumni association Mangalore chapter president Nelson Castelino were present.
Dr Ankith Garg in his address spoke about the importance of blood donation; he mentioned that by donating blood we will be saving 3 to 4r lives on an average.
Fr Ajith Menezes described the blood donation as a great act of charity. He encouraged the staff and students to donate blood.
Nelson Castelino welcomed the gathering. SJEC alumni Mangalore chapter treasurer Franco Menezes proposed the vote of thanks. E & E Assistant Professor Rolen Rodrigues compered the programme.
