Mangalore: A T Lobo propagated human values through his writings: Fr Mark Valder

Mangalore, 28 Jul 2014: A T Lobo always gave importance to the human values. His writings were so powerful that anyone who reads his writings would surely follow these values in his life, said Fr Mark Valder, the former editor of Raknno, Konkani Weekly.
Fr Mark was speaking during the programme titled ‘Yetyel Grestkaay’ held at Bishop’s House hall, here on Sunday July 27 morning. It was organized by A T Lobo Foundation, in association with Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy and Raknno Konkani Weekly.
Fr Mark said, ‘A T Lobo helped everyone who was in need. His writings always uplifted the social values in the society. Many people including myself had fallen in love with this short stories and novels. People used to wait for his stories in Konkani news papers and such was the power of his writing.’
‘Even though, A T Lobo was an introvert, he never failed to raise voice for the underprivileged in his writings. He used to touch the hearts of the readers through his realistic approach,’ said Fr Mark.
Fr Mark recalled his cherished memories on novelist A T Lobo.
Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Roy Castelino felicitated students who secured distinctions in Konkani in the recently held SSLC exams.
Raknno Konkani Weekly editor Fr Francis Rodrigues, eminent Konkani litterateurs Dr Edward Nazareth and Eddy Netto and others were present on the occasion.
Dr Edward Nazareth presented an analysis of A T Lobo’s Novel, ‘Tun Boro Za’, while Dr Carmelita D’Souza analysed A T Lobo’s drama ‘Avnkvar Avoy’, and Fr Melvyn Pinto Neerude presented an analysis on 2 stories - ‘Hardyar Khuris and Reedh’ authored by A T Lobo.
The programme ‘Yetyel Grestkaay’ was organized by A T Lobo Foundation in association with Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy and Raknno Konkani Weekly.
