Mangalore: Rotary is global university of social service - Marate

M’lore, Jul 26, 2014 : Indian culture lays emphasis on serving humanity that is essential for attaining spiritual bliss. Rotary Club International (RCI) is a global organization engaged in humanitarian service regardless of caste, creed and religion in worldwide countries. It has created global leaders in 109 years of its existence. The nationwide RCI units are training new leaders in social welfare activities. RCI is truly the global university of social service, said RCI district former assistant governor and district training Committee member B Pundalika Marate.
Pundalika was speaking during a programme held at Rotary auditorium, Mulky, near here on Friday July 25.
Pundalika further said that RCI members were fortunate to get the opportunity to get recognized in social welfare activities in global level. Meanwhile, one is overwhelmed with the kind of happiness that one gets by rising in different status within RCI, said Pundalika.
RCI – Mulky president Joel Herald D’Souza presided the programme.
The tributes were paid for the deposed soul of Professor A C Tunga, retired principal and RCI – Kundapur president who passed away recently.
RCI – Mulky founder member Y S Salian, T Gopal Bhandary, Ivan Mendonca, Melvyn D’Almeida, Raymond Rebello, Mohan Rao, J C Salian, treasurer Alwyn Kotian, secretary Wilhelm Maben were present on the occasion.
Joel welcomed the gathering. Ravichandra proposed vote of thanks.
