Kundapur: Working Classes extremely burdened of inflation - Ramachandra

Kundapur, 09 Jul 2014: The working class is finding it extremely difficult to manage household budget as the prices of essential commodities skyrocketed in the country.  The working classes at least need monthly salaries/wages of Rs 15,000 to manage their household needs, said Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) mobile campaign convener P Ramachandra Rao.

 

Ramachandra was addressing the gathering around mobile campaign that was embarked on by CITU as part of general council meeting scheduled to be held at Bellary from July 11 to July 14.

 

 

The governments change, but a policy does not change that are packaged like old wine in new bottle that of capitalists.  CITU has waged struggle against this since the past 4 years, said Ramachandra.

 

Speaking on the occasion, CITU state vice president K Shankar said the voters who believed otherwise have elected the capitalist party in the recently held sixteenth parliamentary elections.  PM Modi-led union government has hiked train fares, prices of cooking gas, diesel and petrol beyond the former UPA government.  PM Modi-led union government has been trying to get amendments to several Acts including factories, commercial disputes, minimum wages etc.  Meanwhile, the general council meeting of CITU that will be held in Bellary will hold serious discussion in this regard, said Shankar.

 

The public meetings were held in front of 3 tile factories in Kundapur attended by hundreds and thousands of laborers.

 

CITU taluk president H Narasimha presided the programme.

 

CITU Udupi district chief secretary Balakrishna Shetty, taluk chief secretary Suresh Kallagar, G D Panju, Venkatesh Koni, Mahabala Vaderahobali, K Laxman, V Narasimha were present on the occasion.
