Udupi: People regardless of age enjoy Rural Games on silted-field at Bantakal

Udupi, 7 Jul 2014 : The monsoon rains that was playing hide and seek since a few days began pouring on Sunday July 6, while the rain water flooded the paddy field of Palame Pandit Umesh Prabhu, Kodugudde, near Shirva here, set an ideal venue for holding daylong rural games.
According to the plans, rural games on silted-paddy-field were held here at the joint aegis of Rajapura Saraswat Yuva Vrunda and Durga Mahila Vrunda, Bantakal at the venue. Variety games were held actively partaken by men and women including children. Over 250 people partaken in rural games.
The traditional monsoon dishes and delicacies were shared among the participants. Hundreds of viewers enthralled in the rural games of monsoon season.
Rajapura Sarashwata Bhramana Sangha president and Udupi ZP president Upendra Nayak, Bantakal temple managing trustee Vishwanat Nayak, senior teacher B Pundalika Marate, Karkal – SVT College principal Ramdas Prabhu, Belle gram panchayat past president Sasidar Wagle, village elder Shyam Prabhu Palame, Bantakal temple trustees Gampadabail Jayaram Prabhu and Devdas Patkar Mudarangady, social activist Geeta Wagle Bantakal, and others were present.
Yuva Vrunda president Anantaram Wagle welcomed the gathering. The secretary Amrut Nayak proposed vote of thanks. K R Patkar compered the programme.
Belman – Punarukare School headmaster Devdas Patkar sponsored the prizes.
