Property feud
Akkarangady Jamaat (committee) was managing Juma masjid at Akkarangady since several years, while Badria Juma majid was functioning as a extended unit of Akkarangady Jamaat at Nehru Nagar. It was during the last AGM Akkarangady Jamaat decided to hold Friday namaz at Badria Juma masjid, Nehru Nagar. However, it was stalled without the consensus among both. Besides, the Friday namaz issue was stalled as there was property feud on masjid. The chaos and enmity prevailed among masjid and Jamaat.
Meanwhile, Akkarangady Jamaat during February 2013 petitioned taluk Tahsildar and land survey department, to survey the plot of 1.49 acres alleging that Badria Juma masjid, Nehru Nagar is functioning in the plot owned by the former. Despite the petition, the revenue department postponed to survey the plot. Akkarangady Jamaat who was fed up with the apathy of department officials, lodged a complaint with deputy vigilance officer against Bantwal Tahsildar and land survey in-charge in this regard. Accordingly, as per the orders of deputy vigilance officer, the land survey department surveyors held the survey of 3 acre plot on Saturday July 5.
