Udupi: Prajoth D’Sa, up & coming Konkani singer Presents Maiden Concert

Udupi, 21 April 2014 : Prajoth D’Sa Konkani concert was presented by youth Commission of Udupi diocese at Mother of Sorrows parish grounds, here on Sunday April 20 evening. The youth Commission led by director Fr. Edwin D’Souza with different parish units of ICYM, YCS and YSM organized this mega event.

 

Prajoth is an up and coming musician who was labeled as Sonu Nigam of coastal district is a son of Peter D’Sa and Lilly Nazareth, parishioners of Kallianpur, here.  He has already produced 35 Konkani albums presented his maiden show here on Sunday evening.

 

Bishop Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo of Udupi diocese, vicar general Fr Baptist Menezes, Fr Fred Mascarenhas, Fr Valerian Mendonca, Fr Denis D’Sa, Fr Chetan Lobo OFM Cap, Fr Stany B Lobo, Fr Rocky D’Souza, Fr Clement Mascarenhas, Fr Norbert Furtado, clergies and religious nuns were present. 

 

Fr Baptist Menezes released a hand book published by youth Commission on the same occasion.

 

Bishop Dr Lobo felicitated Prajoth D’Sa along with his parents during the programme.

 

Bishop Dr Lobo lauded the musical talent of Prajoth and also his contributions at the choir during the liturgy of Holy Week at Milagres Cathedral.

 

 

The mega maiden concert unplugged the songs for the first time in Konkani show which featured Prajoth’s super hit number ‘Tuzo Mog Maka Zala’ and other hit his songs from Udi Udi. Apart from Prajoth, the show featured also by great award winning singers - Vinay Lewis of Kallianpur, Jyothsna Fernandes, Eden D’Sa and Meghana Saldanha, backed vocals by Waylon Machado, Rhea D’Souza, Karren Sequiera and Shiny Rodrigues from Kallianpur and Aenson Mathias, Gladson Pinto and Sayani Fernandes of Thottam.

 

The instrumentalists Dolvin Mendonca, Stevan Frank, Coy Carvalho, Ronald Coates and Loyson Corda of Shirva supported the show by playback music.

 

Meanwhile, Easter special was auctioned off that fetched Rs 10,500 on the occasion.

 

The mega event was concluded with non-stop Bail dances wherein the youth in large numbers participated enthusiastically.

Kundapur deanery vicar Fr Anil D’Souza welcomed the gathering. Roshan Sequiera of Kuntal Nagar and Teena Machado of Udyavara compered the stage programme. While youth Commission chief animator Leslie Aroza of Thottam beautifully compareed the mega musical event.  ICYM Udupi diocesan secretary Waylen Machado proposed vote of thanks.
