Udupi: Cong Candidate J P Hegde & BJP candidate Shobha Karandlaje file nominations

Udupi, 26 Mar 2014: Congress candidate Jayaprakash Hegde and BJP candidate Shobha Karandlaje who are contesting in the upcoming LS polls from Udupi – Chikmagalur constituency filed their nomination papers with the district electioneering officer at the headquarter of district administration here on Wednesday March 26.
 
The district BJP held party activists convention at Hotel Kidiyoor, here on Wednesday March 26.
 
Karnataka former CM B S Yeddyurappa inaugurated the convention here on Wednesday morning.
 
BJP candidate Shobha Karandlaje, Chikmagalur MLA C T Ravi, Karkal MLA Sunil Kumar, former minister Kota Srinivas Poojary,  Udayakumar Shetty, former MLA K Raghupati Bhat, Yashpal Suvarna, Shyam Kudwa, Naveen Bhandary, Mahesh Takoor, Dinakar Shetty and others were present on the occasion.

 

 
The only independent candidate Harish Ram joined BJP along with his hundreds of supporters.

The union minister Oscar Fernandes inaugurated the convention.
 
Congress candidate K Jayaprakash Hegde, Karnataka state minister Vinayakumar Sorake, Motamma, MLA Pramod Madwaraj, Gopal Poojary, former MLA Gopal Bhandary, Yuvaraj, ZP former president Bhujanga Shetty, Sarala Kanchan, office bearers of different units of Congress were present on the occasion.
