SKPA Kaup Zone observes World Photography Day at Manasa

Pamboor, 22 August 2012: As part of the World Photography Day on August 19, 2012, the South Kanara Photographers’ Association (SKPA) Kaup Zone spent their valuable time in a meaningful manner at Manasa Rehabilitation Centre at Pamboor on Tuesday, August 21, 2012. Remedia D’Souza, Director of the Manasa Centre inaugurated the programme at 11.45 am. Guests of honour included, Ravi Kumar, President of SKPA, Bakta Prasad, honorary President, Vinod Kaup, Chief Secretary, Naveen Paniyoor, Treasurer and the Principal of Manasa, Muriel Premlatha.
The members of the SKPA, Kaup Zone organized various games for the mentally challenged children of Manasa. They also arranged Magic Show by Pangala Shenoy which was appreciated by the children. Thereafter the children were treated with sumptuous lunch provided by the SKPA, Kaup Zone.
The morning programme was compeered by Pramod Suvarna, Ravi Kumar welcomed the gathering and vote of thanks was given by Srinivas Aithal.
The afternoon programme was arranged at 2 pm. Geetanjali Suvarna, member of Udupi Zilla Panchayat presided over the programme. Guests of honour included Rakesh Kunjoor, Reporter from Udayavani, Remedia D’Souza, Director of Manasa, Ravi Kumar, Vasudeva Rao, Bakta Prasad, Vinod Kaup, Navin Paniyoor and Mahesh Suvarna.
Speaking at this occasion Rakesh Kunjoor thanked the SKPA, Kaup Zone for giving an opportunity to interact with the mentally challenged children of Manasa. He appreciated the service that is being rendered by Remedia D’Souza in providing education and other facilities to the mentally challenged children in Manasa.
Geethanjali Suvarna in her message said that she considered herself fortunate for being able to participate in the programme along with the children who are the reflection of God. Remedia D’Souza said that each and every child of Manasa is like her own child. She further said that it is a matter of pride that those children who have completed their studies in Manasa have been able to stand on their own legs. Vasudeva Rao appreciated the fact that the SKPA, Kaup Zone thought it fit to observe the World Photography Day at Manasa.
Srinivas Ithal compeered the afternoon programme, Krishna Rao welcomed the gathering and Muriel Premalatha proposed the vote of thanks.
