An Art Gallery in Udupi is a need of the hour

Udupi, 20 August 2012: On the occasion of International Photography Day, Pioneer Photographers Association organized Exhibition of Photography at the M.G.M College Udupi and also it felicitated the winers of the photography competition.
Mr. U.R. Sabhapathi (JDS Leader) inaugurated the Photography Exhibition and speaking on the occasion he stressed the urgent need of an state-of-the-art “Art Gallery” that will give chance to many new artists to exhibit their photography.
Udupi MLA Mr. Raghupathi Bhatt inaugurated the Felicitations and award ceremony and said that there is a talk on opening of an art gallery at the Manipal Karanth Kala Grama.
Also on this occasion, winners of the State level Photography completion were awarded by Mr. Udaykumar (BJP District President). There is a custom to award a special prize to a senior photographer every year by Pioneer Photographers Assocation and this year it went to Mr. Nagaraja Varampalli. He was felicitated by Mr. Pramod Madwaraj (Congress Leader).
Mr. Ku.Shi. Haridas Bhat conducted the programme on behalf of M.G.M College Rastra Kavi Shri Govinda Pai Research Centre and Memorial by artist/stage actor Pro. Udyawara Madhava Acharya. On the occasion Mr. Heranje Krishna Bhatt (Director of Research Centre) and S.P. Dr. Boralingaya were present on the dais.
Earlier the President of the Pioneer Photographers Association Mr. Astro Mohan welcomed the gathering and delivered the presidential address. Mr. Hemanatha Padubidri introduced the award winner Mr. Varampalli. Mr. Ganesh Kalyan introduced the Photography competition winners. Mr. Janaradhan Kodavoor conducted the programme and General Secretary Mr. Jayaprakash proposed the vote of thanks.
At the end of the program, the famous photographers from Bangalore Mr. Arun Mahendrakar and Mr. Selana Shivkumar organized the Photo-Shop classes. As part of the cultural programme Aparna K. Sharma presented beautiful Bharat Natyam dance at 6pm and entertained the audience.
