He was speeking on an occation ’Arise Mangalore’ organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Social workers, business community and elite citizens of Mangalore to condemn the Hindu Jagarana Vedike attack on students in the Morning mist Home stay at Padil.

Advocate Asha Nayak urged the female victims of the home stay attack to file complaints against their assaulters under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Dear Keviv, please give the statistics of past 10 years showing how many conversions have taken place in undivided Dakshin Kannada from one religion to other to prove yourself correct.

Great debate and emotional outburst. The Police have come to a near conclusion of clamping goonda Act on the criminals. it must be thoroughly enforced with political milieu. The pressure must be to see that this kind of self policing must end. Else what ever the great personalities like Mr N.Vinaya Hegde and othere speakers, have discussed, expressed will be another drop of milk in the sands of Mangalore-Ullal beach. Thats all. Let no politics enter in taking action please.

Root cause for all these is conversion. Some convert for silly reasons.People should be given religious freedom. Some say you should visit some religious place on Friday. Some say you should visit some religious place on Sunday. Some say you should visit some religious place on Thursday.People should develop individual thinking.People should reform rather than convert.

The worthies are free to send a toothless memorandum to equally spineless Governor and his council of ministers. At penniless college students leaders we too such stuff decades ago. But our speakers here are resourceful and have the power to lead change if they are sincere. Some suggestions are: 1. Mr. Hegde may begin with allocating a reasonable number of seats in vocational institutions owned and controlled by the trust that he represents. Selling seats to the highest bidders is part of the problem. 2. Advocate Nayak may explore eays to initiate civil action free of legal charges in civil courts, besides PIL, submitting that the victims are afraid to come out in the state. Our courts these days are known to deliver socially reactive judgments, on thee lines of Hindi movies. Ask Katju. 3. And so on, each in their own sphere can find ways how to heal this rift and communal divide. 4. We all know goons were made, not born. They are political tools and we know every party, business and contractor in town and outside town hires them for protection or intimidation of rival interests. When less and less goons are available to hire, such situation is controlled. (more in a sequel)

yes, without the patronage of the political back up these goons will not have guts to attack even the dogs, forget about humans. These need to be booked under GOONDA ACT. ARISE has risen to the occasion and we expect quick action to submit Memorandum to Governor and CM to take stern action against these goons and to get justice to the victims. Mangalore is a educational hub built over the years by our ancestors, intellectuals, various Religious Institutions and earned a good name and now it is spoiled by these un-educated, un-ethical goons. Let that not happen in future, let us fight to finish and throw them out. ARISE PLEASE KEEP FOLLOW UPS UNTIL JUSTICE IS DONE AND PEACE IS RESTORED.
