Mangalore: State Women’s Commission Chief briefs media on resort attack

Mangalore, 02 Aug 2012: State Women’s Commission chief C Manjula in a press release on Thursday, 2nd August 2012 said that the two boys namely Gurudath Kamat and Vijaykumar who were attacked by the activists of Hindu Jagrana Vedike on July 28, 2012 have ‘suspicious’ background. She hinted that they were believed to have been involved in organizing parties and inviting girls with ulterior motives. Further she said that the boy named Gurudutt’s background showed that his mother was involved in women trafficking since 2009.
C Manjula was speaking to media persons at the Circuit House. She revealed that she had spoken to two of the girl victims and their parents. These two girls seem to have gone to the resort on the invitation of another girl and did not know the antecedents of the two boys. Manjula while accepting the innocence of the two girls demanded that the background of Gurudutt and Vijaykumar should be investigated.
Speaking further C Manjula said, "This practice of partying has spoilt the girls. I will send a policy proposal to the government seeking strong action against trafficking of girls. There is a big trafficking network in the state, and every year, around 200-300 girls go missing."

| The incident shows how well the law of the nation is respected.The media, the moral police, political parties and the police, religious outfits and every tom dick and harry is keen on commenting and proving their points right. But guys what about law? We have constitution which gives us a right to privacy and ensures liberty. Looks like other than laws, everything works. We haven t noticed any discussion about the applicability of any provision of any law here. Even if the said act was obscene, no law allows you to take action by your own. A husband can t touch his own wife without her consent. So who are these goons to touch an unknown girl without even verifying the facts? | |

Intoxicated by the backing of remote control of the state government power and cheap alcohol, the attack by cadre turned out to be a friendly fire because none of the victims are not from religious minorities at all. They are all from respectable upper caste and who are at the forefront of defending the saffron vision for Mangalore and the country. | Roger Mangalore, I should not be responding to your irresponsible comments on those working abroad! However, you are contradicting your own statement. You are saying HJV attack is wrong! Fine! When we criticize such inhuman attack,you are saying we are wrong! Is there any written law prohibiting NRI commenting or giving opinion on injustice that is happening back home!
