Katpadi, 01 August 2012: Most of the crimes taking places in the society these days, as we see in the news media, are related to young generation. The modern education, attraction towards the internet, western culture, corrupt political system, desire to become rich and also the external attraction are destroying the moral values. The rich culture of India is out of shape today and as a result the younger generation is going into the wrong path, said former Rotary District Deputy Governor B. Pundalika Marathe.

He was speaking as a chief guest in the new office bearer installation ceremony of Rotary Club’s youth association Interact Club held in Katpadi Mahila Mandala Auditorium on Monday. Speaking further he said that, mothers are the centre of cultured upbringing of children, so they can help in building of beautiful society. International Rotary Club intends to promote the world peace, service and high moral values through the Interact Rotaract clubs. By joining more youths in the club this revolution has to be strengthened, he said.

Rotaract District Representative Shailendra Rao Karkala spoke on the occasion asking the club to implement the district projects in the fields of health and education. 50 Anganavadi students of Indiranagar and J.N. Nagar were distributed with school bags. Rotaract Chairman Jagannath Kote, Rotaract Founder President Mattu Harish Rao, Costal Representative Shivananda Nyari conveyed best wishes.

The program was presided over by Rotaract outgoing President Prakash Acharya, who also welcomed the guests and the gathering. He also thanked everyone who supported during his tenure as President. Secretary Carol Shainy D’Souza read the report. On this occasion the outgoing President Prakash Acharya and Secretary Shainy were felicitated.
