•   It was a ’FRIDAY NIGHT FEVER’ at MANCHURIAN MADURAI - THE BOATHOUSE on Friday July 20th, 2012

Mississauga - Canada, 28 July 2012: The first time ever  KERALA NIGHT was held with roaring fun, rocking music and very authentic Kerala dishes prepared by the expert chefs of Manchurian Madurai and Udupi Madras Cafe. The banquet hall reached full capacity in record time and unfortunately disappointed late-comers were request to book well in advance for next month’s KERALA NIGHT.

Right at the entrance, the stunning traditional brass lamp adorned with a jasmine flower garland set the tone of the event and welcomed everyone in true Keralite fashion. The ladies were given a string of jasmine flowers each, and the intoxicatingly sweet fragrance of the flowers was mesmerizing!  The banquet hall, shaped and built with complete wooden interior like a boathouse, was beautifully decorated with Kanchipuram sarees on the ceiling and along the walls. An added touch - a huge, bejeweled elephant head-dress adorned the stage back-drop. In one sentence Banquet hall  - exactly the duplicate of “ Kerala Back water Boat house”

 

To complement the breath-taking interior designs, the mood was further enhanced by a very talented band, comprised of 8 musicians and 2 singers, who played Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi songs. By the time the clock struck twelve, almost the entire audience was on the dance floor rocking to the music and swaying to the beats.

 

The food was absolutely delightful! The buffet consisted of over 25 assorted appetizers and main dishes prepared in authentic Kerala style. Paruppu vada, Appam,  String hoppers,Veg. Stew, Kerala Parotas, Fish Moilee, Puli Saadam, Koorkam Dry, Nadan Kozhi Curry,dosa,Avial, Inji Curry, Shrimp Chilli Fry and Ada Payasam were just some of the mouth-watering delicasies served. 
To end this special occasion on a high note, there also were competitions and prizes provided by Udupi Madras Cafe, Chutney Swamy and Manchurian Madurai. Everybody had a whale of a time!
