Udupi: Land Surveyor caught by Lokayuktha while taking bribe

Udupi, 26 July 2012: A land Surveyor was caught by Lokayukta Police while receiving bribe for preparing land sketch. The accused Surveyor Shanmugam was receiving rupees 2 thousand bribe from Nagaraj Bhat a resident of Katpadi at Udupi Registration Office on Wednesday and at that time Lokayukta Police raided and arrested him.
Nagaraj Bhat had submitted application for making the land sketch for the 36 cents land in Nadsal Grama belonging to his mother in law, on Tuesday. Surveyor Shanmugam had asked for rupees 2 thousand bribe. But Nagaraj Bhat gave complaint to the Lokayukta Office on this matter. As per the complaint the Lokayukta Police plotted the plan.
On Wednesday while Nagaraj Bhat was giving the bribe to Shanmugam, the Lokayukta Police raided and arrested the accused Shanmugam along with the evidence. This successful raid was led by Mangalore Lokayukta S. Jagamayyanavar. Inspectors Thimmayya and Dinesh and other Staff were with them in the raid operation.

| At last got trapped. behaves very smart and also cunning. When I was taking him for a survey few years ago, he had taken my photo from my camera and his photo incidentally was caught and I have it with me. This must caution all the Surveyors who loot people and give wroneous sketches at times and multiply problems. some introduce new problems if they are not satisfied. For all this menace the Revenue deppartment at Bangalore is responsible. | |
