Udupi MLAs tender resignations and called for Kundapur Bandh

Udupi:  13 July 2012: Though an UDUPI MLC  Kota Srinivas got appointed as Minister in the Shettar’s cabinet, all other MLAs of Udupi District are very disappointed and shocked.  Their only able leader, honest Sri Haladi Srinivas Shetty has been rejected and ignored at the last moment.  This incident exploded the bomb in Udupi/Kundapore Coastal area.  Haladi Srinivas Shetty often hailed as Vajapayi of Kundapur whom his followers expected him to be taken into the cabinet as one of the ministers has been shun away at the last moment and replaced by an unknown Srinivas Poojari.

 
On what ground Srinivas is taken into the cabinet is a big mystery. It has been argued that since one member of Billawa Samaja should be taken into ministerial birth, Kota Srinivas may have considered as Billawa representative and made minister.

 

 
The senior BJP leaders had opposed Kota Srinivas being considered for the ministerial birth and even Kota has been advised not to take oath, however against their wishes and advise he has accepted the post of minister.  This has resulted in humiliation to Udupi BJP MLAs and leaders and they feel insulted.

 
So far there were no groups in coastal district of BJP party, however now it has already created one in politics.  For Kota Srinivas one group and rest all BJP leaders are united in another group.  All BJP MLAs are ready to tender their resignations to the party leader incl. Raghupati Bhat.  Joining him are all MLAs of Udupi districts, Jilla Panchayat members, Taluk Panchyat members and Municipality Members.

 
The big question now is who is going to welcome Kota Srinivas when he returns to Udupi, who will arrange and felicitate victory celebration.  It has become a big head-ache among BJP leaders.

 
The dis-hearted followers of Haladi Srinivas Shetty have called for Kundapura Bandh.  Many members of Panchayat and Taluk already tendered their resignations.  The steady ship of BJP Udupi District has started to shake and how long it is going to last is difficult to imagine.
