Shettar prefers MLC Srinivas Poojary to 13 coastal MLAs
Udupi / Mangalore, 12 Jul 2012: Though eight out of 13 MLAs in the coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi belong to the BJP, the ‘men in power’ have decided to give a ministerial berth to MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, who hails from Kota in Udupi district, thus ignoring all the MLAs in the coastal region.
Coming from an agriculturalist family in Kotathattu village in Kundapur taluk, Kota Srinivas Poojary was born in 1960 to Annappa Poojary and Lacchi Poojarthi couple. Poojary and his wife Shantha have three children - Swathi, Shashidhar and Shruthi.
Kota Srinivas Poojary started his political career as a supporter of Late Bangarappa and Devraj Urs. He was actively involved in Kranti Ranga, the party set up by Bangarappa and Devaraj Urs.
He later joined BJP, when Kranti Ranga was no more following Bangarappa joining the Congress. Kota became member of Kotathattu Gram Panchayat in 1993 and he also worked as its Vice President during 1993.
In 1995, he became the member of Taluk Panchayat and in 2006, he became the member of Zilla Panchayat. In 2008, he became the member of Legislative Council.
In 2010, he was elected as MLC unanimously for the second time. Srinivas Poojary also served as district BJP president between 2007 and 2010.

I Congratulate Mr. Srinivas Poojary on his being chosen as Minister. He is down to earth leader of the down throdden and the poor. He knows the difficulties of them and represents honestly. May God bless him in his new role. Let Udupi District get the due share in all fields of development. [ the agitation is not against Poojary. It is against humilitation to Halady Srinivas Shetty. The idiotic attitude of Leaders must be protested]. Meet Mr Poojary with your problems and he will take it up honestly and fight for that. But you may not get immediate results, yet you will get it. It is said, "Bhagvaan ke Ghar dher hai, magar Andhera nahim". Good Luck to Mr Kota Sreenivasa Poojary. Udupi Jai ho! |
