Shirva: Works for society needs appreciation – Dr Gauri

Shirva, 07 July 2012: Identifying, congratulating and appreciating the good works done will encourage being more active. The mentality of identifying the works done for the development of persons or society is to be cultivated. The works for the society needs appreciation, said Dr. H.J. Gouri, Chairperson of ‘Jeevasanjeevini’ Committee of Rotary International District 3180.
She was speaking upon conducting the installation ceremony of Shirva Rotary’s 42nd year’s new office bearers, installithat, a ng new President Mathias Lobo, Secretary Panduranga Kamath and rest of the team. Speaking further she said Rotarian will have the attitude of honesty with his family, work and also with the society, she said.
The program was presided over by Former Rotary President Ronald Sequeira, who also welcomed the guests and the gathering. Secretary Leo Noronha read the report. New President Mathias Lobo announced the service programs of the New Year and introduced the office bearers. Zonal Deputy Governor P. Manohar Rao released the club magazine ‘Mallika’ and conveyed best wishes.
On this occasion Bantakal Karnataka Bank Manager Vittala Wagle took oath as the new member of the club. Former Deputy Governor K.R. Patkar handed over the achievement certificates to the former club Presidents and congratulated them. As a contribution from Rotary Club a computer to Punarukere School was received by the school Teacher Devadas Patkar.
Senior Rotarian Dr. N.S. Shetty Padoor was honoured with ‘Paul Harris Fellow’ and congratulated. Shantharama Wagle, B. Pundalika Marathe, Micheal Mathias, Lucas D’Souza and Edwin Rodrigues conducted introduction. In the program Rotary Founder Member Dr. K.R. Venkatakrishna was present. Shriram Marathe conducted prayers. Raghupathi Aythal compeered the program. New Secretary Panduranga Kamath proposed vote of thanks.
