Udupi: Parents guide Sriraksha excel at National level

Udupi, 24 June 2012: When the Parents identify the talents of their children at a young age and with patience and interest if they provide guidance to them to have the extracurricular activities along with their studies, they can excel, and for this Sriraksha Nayak is the best example..!
Sriraksha is the daughter of Rajarama Nayak, Teacher in Mangalore Urva Canara High School (son of Krishna Nayak, Retired Headmaster of Edmer Ninjoor, near Palli of Karkala Taluk) and Shalini Kamath, Teacher in Dongarakeri Canara Girls High School. Sriraksha Nayak participated in National Painting competition, was recognized and was honoured by President Pratibha Patil. Currently she is 7th Standard student in Dongarakeri Canara Girls High School.
Sriraksha is trained by popular drawing teacher and Surathkal Vidyadayini High School teacher Manoranjani. She won various local and district level competitions. She competed in the ‘save tigers’ painting competition held by India Postal department in 2011 winning first prize in the state and also won the first prize in the national level competition held in New Delhi bringing honour to he home town.
This year she was honoured by the President Pratibha Patil, Central Minister Kapil Sibbal and other dignitaries and won prizes in various competitions. She along with her parents have toured the capital New Delhi for which the expenses were born by the central government. She won second prize in the competition ‘Anchekuncha’ organized by Shrikshethra Dharmastala Shantivana Trust and was honoured by Dr. Virendra Hegde.
She won first prize in the competition held by Mani School of Arts Mysore, second prize in the competition held by Pratibha Education Sangha Belgam, won Emerging Artist Award from Chakrapani School of Arts and Children Achivement Award 2008 from Women and Children Department Mangalore, won first prize in ‘Amrata Varna 2009 competition held by Mangalore Amrathanandamaye Mutt, ‘Bala Kalalekhastri 2010 and Bala Kalajnana 2011’ from Karnataka Chitrakala Academy Bangalore. Besides this she has won various other local awards.
Even in her studies she is brilliant. Along with the studies she is learning Barathanatya, Hindustani Music, Karnataka Music. Also participates in the sports and wins prizes. She has great devotion towards God, high respect for her parents and teachers. She is close to her classmates and also as a elder daughter she helps her mother in the works of home. Her brother Ganesh Nayak is a student in 4th standard and studies well in Canara English Medium School. Parents have regard and as well as concern on their children.
We wish her to be a role model to other children and emerge as an national star in the field of arts.
