Moodubelle: Forest Department along with Lions Club organizes sapling plantation by the roadside

Moodubelle, 19 June 2012: The Forest Departments programme of planting saplings by the Moodubelle-Padubelle roadside under the government scheme in cooperation with the Lions Club of Moodubelle was organized on Monday, June 18, 2012 at 11 am near Lions Seva Bhavan, Moodubelle.
Mrs. Ida Gibba D’Souza, member of the Udupi Zilla Panchayat inaugurated the programme by planting the first sapling followed by Devdas Hebbar, President of Udupi Taluk Panchayat . Commodore Jerome Castelino, VSM, Rajendra Shetty, President of Lions Club and Belle Grama Panchayat member, Gerald Fernandes, Shashidhar Wagle, A.G. D’Souza, P. Manjunath Shetty, Assistant Forest Security Officer, Kundapura and Prakash Poojary, Zonal Forest Officer Udupi and Jeevandas Shetty Assistant Zonal Forest Officer, Udupi were present for the programme.
Under the ‘Green City’ and plantation of saplings by the roadside project the villages covered include Athradi, Patla, Belle, Padubelle, Badagubettu, Karwal, Indrali, Indiranagara in which more than 3000 saplings of different varieties are being planted.
