Shimoga, 09 Jun 2012: The passion for education motivated this woman from Kamala Nehru National College for Women here to rush to the examination hall even before the reception ceremony of her wedding had concluded.
On Friday, Kalashree C., who married Venkatesh at Gayatri Mangalya Mandir in the morning, appeared for Quantitative Techniques paper of B.Com final year in the afternoon. Her husband who supported Ms. Kalashree’s wish personally dropped her at the examination centre.
She could not even relish the lunch of her own wedding ceremony. Even when the reception ceremony was under way, she came to the exam hall in the bridal dress.
Her classmates who were happy to have her at the examination hall extended warm wishes to her for the examination as well as for her married life.
Mr. Venkatesh, who is serving as an Assistant Executive Engineer with Mangalore Electricity Supply Company in Shikaripur, said that, “though my wife had prepared for the exam, she was not sure on appearing for it. Her teachers who attended the marriage ceremony requested me to allow her to appear for the exam. I decided to support her.” The Quantitative Techniques exam which was scheduled to be held on May 31 was put off because of the “Bharat bandh” against the increase in the price of petrol.
