Unable to bear separation, childhood friends commit suicide

Mangalore, 04 Jun 2012: In a tragic incident two childhood friends, who could not bear the thought of being separate, committed suicide by jumping into a well in Puttur Town Station limits on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Sharanya (24) and Ramya (23).
Both, cousins, were attached to each other. Sharanya was a resident of Karmalu here and was pursuing her engineering course at Vivekananda College in Puttur. Ramya from Kudroli in Mangalore had finished her second PU and was pursuing a computer course.
Family sources said that on Monday, Ramya after coming to know that her father would come to take her to Mangalore on Tuesday, made the suicide pact and ended their lives.
It is not the first time that Ramya had been demanding that she be with Sharanya. It was an oft repeated annual demand. In fact, last year both had run away from home when elders refused to listen to them. They were found sitting below the Bahubali betta at Dharmasthala then,’’ the source said.
On Monday, Sharanya’s mother heard a loud sound of something dropping into the well at 10 am, some time after Ramya argued that she will stay in Puttur with Sharanya pursuing her computer course after coming to know that her father would be coming to take her to Mangalore on Tuesday. They could not find anything near the well but later found the bodies floating.
Puttur police have registered the case.

This is nothing but heights of stupidity!!! Although I sympathize with their families and friends. These kind of characters will give shock to their beloved ones one day or other. |
