Udupi: ‘Katariveera’ to be screened on May 17 after clipping offensive parts

Udupi, 15 May 2012: For depicting the Hindu Gods in bad manner in Kannada movie ’Kathariveera Surasundarangi’. Producer Muniratnam and lead actor Upendra offered Tappu Kaanike at the Shri Krishna Math today.

 
Shri Laxmivara Tirtha Swamiji of Shiroor Math had objected to the screening of this movie was stalled under his leadership by Bharang Dal activists.

 

 

 

 
On Saturday around 1am producer Muniratnam, Rock Line Vekatesh and Suryappa Babu had met Shri Laxmivara and promised that the disputed scenes and dialogues would be chopped and the movie would be released thereafter. Matter was then considered as closed and the movie was to be released after that.  However again on Monday Actor Upendra  and Muniratnam rushed to the Shiroor Mut and had an close door discussion with the Swamiji.  Swamiji then made to offer Rs. 1000 each as a punishment offer to the Krishna Fund and had them visited the Kanakadas Kindi and blessed them.  Producer  tendered his apology for the hurt or damage caused by inclusion of such scenes, which crept in knowingly or unknowingly. He then promised that due care would be taken in future to ensure that such incidents would not recur.

 
Speaking to publick Actor Upendra said that it was not their intension of hurting the Gods.  The mistake did happened unknowingly and they are very sorry that and would chop all the unwanted scenes and dialogues.

 
He added that the movie would be released on Thursday after removing all the  derogatory scenes. To make amends for it, the penalty ritual had been performed under the Swamiji’s lead. He would like to apologize to everyone in the matter, he further said.  Now the Swamiji has given the permission to release the movie after editing the objectionable scenes.  They are truly sorry for all the wrong done and had offered punishment offer Thappu Kaanike to Krishna.
