Abu Dhabi KCO Fiesta 2012 – A super hit musical extravaganza

Abu Dhabi, 11 May 2012: A magical Musical Extravaganza unfolded here at the Golden Ball room of Country Club at 11am with a prayer invoked by Valerian D’Almeida.  He also highlighted the achievement of KCO and his charitable deeds especially extending helping hand towards the education assistance for the under privileged children back in Mangalore and followed by the Prayer song by KCO members led by Rupert Vaz.

 

A wonderful welcome song Fiasta  2012 sang beautifully by  Rupert Vaz in his melodious voice sang “ Udar Monak tuja Dev Borem Korun” joined by all KCO members.

 

Mr Rupert Vaz Welcomed the gathering and introduced compere of compare Leslie Rego who has come all the way from Mangalore for the Fiesta 2012 to the audience.  Leslie Rego thanked KCO for their kind invitation and congratulated the audience for attending today’s great grand show FIASTA 2012 in large numbers.  He promised the audience the whole day entertainment is waiting for them to enjoy.

 

 

Then it was time for the grand First Session entertainment starting with a super melodious songs “Hazar Phhulan Moden”  and “Clara” by Konkani’s dream boy who has sung in several Konkani audio albums Rony D’Cunha sang  in his impeccable rendition in his golden voice and mesmerized the audience.

 

Leslie Rego introduced Adrian Gomes a master musician, who plays key board and Trumpet and his son Anston Joel Gomes who plays rhythm guitar who has composed two songs at the young age. He will be joining his dad Adrian for the entire singing sessions.

 

He also introduced famous Goan Nephi Rod who has performed on many stage shows and audio albums and has traveled widely and has rendered her golden voice for various functions in India and abroad. She began with a lovely song “Ankwar Chedun” and continued with two beautiful numbers Franklin and Rani Vani and entertained the audience thoroughly.

 

Another sensational Mangalorean Ye Manna Konkani Album fame Adolf Jayathilak began with a lovely jumping song “Lavina” and had audience enjoying to his wonderful romantic song  “Vodthanth Fulli Phulan”.  Two wonderful super hit old duet numbers followed.  “Kitlen Sobith Tun Maria” – a super hit old Goan classic song was beautifully sung by Rony D’Cunha and Nephie Rod followed by  “Tun Sopan Go Fanthyache (duet) by Adolf and Nephie Rod evergreen song mesmerized the audience.

 

Bollywood dance troupe from Dubai presented a dance number followed one of the best band from Goa  and troupe played wonderfully for 20 Minutes wherein several dancing couples joining in for the wonderful  English numbers.

 

The KCO President Michael D’Silva delivered the presidential address.  While welcoming the audience and guests he said that if today KCO has become very famous today for their social and charitable deeds and also it was due to fulfilling financial needs of more than 150 needy students which have helped them to complete their education and many more still continuing.  KCO also has been assisting financially to the medical needs of some patients back in Mangalore.   He also thanked all the sponsors for their generosity which made possible KCO to fulfill dreams of completing education many in Mangalore.

 

Vivek Serrao, sports secretary of KCO conducted the felicitation of sponsors.  He invited KCO ex President Dolphy Vaz to the dais along with Michael D’Silva to felicitate the Platinum and Gold Sponsors.  Vivek requested all the Platinum and Gold sponsors to the dais and they were felicitated with floral bouquets and mementos in appreciation for their sponsorship by Michael, Dolphy and KCO committee members.

 

The Afternoon session was a total entertainment starting with wonderful dance presentations by Bollywood Dance Troupe senorita from Hindi movie “Jindagi” by Bollywood dance troupe, followed by feast of songs all time hit Mangalorean and Goan numbers for which the crowd danced madly until the end.  The songs included Mogan Aso borem (Molbavoilo Dou) by Nephi Rod,  Henry’s “Chondrem Udeven Ailo” by Rony & Nephie,  “Ye Nari Ye” by Rony D’Cunha , “Meera Meera” Goan hit by Adolf Jayathilak,  “Dingiri Dinga” by Adolf Jayathilak, and a few Goan numbers such as “Bestench Ragan Zavun”, , Claudia which kept the audience glued to the dance floor. A most sought after song ‘Anga Sarke Chedum”  by famous Konkani singer Jerome was sung by Adolf Jayathilak wonderfully. Followed by “Baila re Baila”.

 

On the occasion an exciting auction was held by Leslie Rego for the remaining 350 raffle tickets for the funds to be utilized for the charity cause.  From a mere starting amount AEd: 2000 bidding by several sponsors present namely Leo Rodrigues, Walter D’Almeida, Richard Castelino created an exiting and interesting atmosphere and finally it was Leo Rodrigues of Al Mazroui Automobiles, who was successful in bidding the highest amount i.e. AED: 15,000/- which will be utilized purely for the purpose of education of needy Mangalorean students in Mangalore.  Leslie thanked all the sponsors who bid for the auction and said God’s blessings be bestowed upon them for their generous contribution.

 

 

Vivke Serrao once again conducted the short stage programme for honouring all the Silver Sponsors, singers- (Nephi  Rod, Rony D’Cunha, Adolf Jayatilak), Goan Band, Bollywood Artist, media personnel incl. Bellevision Team and Sound Engineers (Broadway), were felicitated with flower bouquets.  The main compere Leslie Rego was too honoured with a flower bouquet. The latest new Konkani album Thembe Thembe by Kevin Misquith was released officially in Abu Dhabi by KCO ex president Leo Rodrigues on a brief stage programme.

 

The entertainment section continued with loads of long time Hindi hits such as “Pukarta Chalam hu me” melodiously rendered by Rony D’Cunha followed by three Hindi classics by Nephie Rod  “Age Bhi Jaane Na Tu” , “Ajeeb Dastan”  and  “Thumse Milkar”,  “Bon Jesuzcha Koventat” by Rony, followed by Mangalorean slow hit “Rosalina” sung emotionally by Adolf mesmerized the audience.  “Suryachi Kirna” an old hit from Mand Soban album sung by Nephi and Rony followed by Red Roz by Nephi.   “Mojem Kaliz” Vishal which song was written by ex KCO President Jerry D’Mello was sung emotionally by Rony who dedicated to Sunil D’Mello (brother of Jerry D’Mello) who passed away a few years back.  “Bebdo” all time hit Goan hit was sung by again Nephi had all crowd dancing the fast number and the Goan Band fitting finale with lovely Goan and English numbers for which crowed danced continuously for an half an hour.

 

The entire KCO FIESTA 2012 was live telecasted through Bellevision.Com and also power point presentation of names of sponsors, programme list, historical Mangalorean sites in pictures was presented by Bellevision Team beautifully on the large LCD screen during the whole day programme.

 

The Raffle Draw was held at the end of the Goan Band for the 12 prizes and prizes were distributed by KCO committee members to the winners.

 

 

Leslie proposed vote of thanks and was grateful for KCO for organizing such a huge super hit show and also had word of thanks for all the sponsors, artists, singers and media personnel.

 

Goan Band continued the final grand Masala Musical extravaganza for which all the young and old joined in last dance of the day.  The program ended at 6:0pm.
