Fun and frolic marks the Annual Day celebrated by Bellevision-Bahrain

Bahrain, 20 Feb 2012: Bellevision -Bahrain held its annual day celebrations along with their families and guests at the Bang Sang Thai party hall on Friday, February 17, 2012.  The gathering comprised of over 200 members.

 

The program began at 6.00 pm with the Introduction of the event by our own Master of Ceremonies, the Flamboyant John D’souza, followed by welcome Dance in Bharat Natyam by Ms. Jovita D’Sa. The Chief Guest of the evening Charles Demello, President of the Konkan Singers Club, Bahrain inaugurated the event in a traditional way by lighting the lamp and cutting the cake along with Honorable guest Henry Almeida, executive committee member of the  Konkani Kutam, Bahrain along with Bellevision, Bahrain executive Committee members.

 

In his Presidential address, Joel D’Sa welcomed the gathering and expressed his satisfaction for hosting various activities successfully for the past one year and expressed his gratitude for all the members for their hard work and dedication.

 

General Secretary Ivan D’Souza, read out the annual report to the gathering highlighting all the programs conducted during 2010-2011 by the  committee.

 

During this special event, a unique felicitation ceremony was conducted by Bellevision, Bahrain, to honor Lawrence Fernandes, a resident of Moodubelle parish, along with his wife Mrs. Maria Fernandes. Lawrence Fernandes is known for his simplicity and honesty, and working in Bahrain for the past 34 years. They  are blessed to have all their children, Daughter-in-law, Son-in-law and grand children with them here in Bahrain. He has helped many people to come to Bahrain and settle in life. It was a special day for them as they were honored by shawl and memento to mark the occasion by the Chief Guest and Guest of Honor.  The felicitation was read out by Bellevision Vice President Francis Saldanha.

 

The Chief Guest in his address applauded the executive committee and members of Bellevision for their hard work and bringing the Belle and surrounding parishes together in Bahrain. He also expressed his feelings and experiences, how can togetherness yield to positive outcomes in life.

 

Main Sponsors of the event Simon and Precilla Machado, Edward Noronha and family, Anthony Dias and family, Melwyn Sequeira and  family, Nelson Alva and  famifly, Shiva Kumar family, Subash Kini  family, and many members who co-sponsored were honored for their support.

 

The Managing Committee identified  four exemplary Members for their contribution during 2010-2011 period and gave “Appreciation Awards”, in the form of appreciation certificates and mementos.  These members are:  Mrs. Marita Sequeira, John D’souza, Arun Castelino and Veera Fernandes.

 

 

After the stage program,  the stage was handed over to the entertainment host Mrs. Rashmi Fernandes, who briefed upcoming events that kept the crowd on their toes. Children entertained the crowd with dances to famous Konkani songs and Hindi dance numbers. Boys and Girls group gave Hindi fusion dance and Dynabhai which completely floored the audience.

 

Members also performed comedy skits and few dance numbers, of which the Arabic dance mesmerized the audience. Many other comedy skits and dances were the highlight of the evening.

 

Raffle draw was held during every interval to keep the members interested with attractive valuable prizes.

 

At the end Assistant General Secretary,  Mrs. Hilda D’Sa thanked the crowd and everyone who made this event possible.

 

During dinner time Entertainment Secretary Sunil D’Sa gave away spot prizes. Besides these, several complimentary gifts were distributed to children who took part in dancing, singing and skits.

 

It was a spirited day in a cozy ambience fun and frolic where everyone went home with some useful gift and of course memories of the day to cherish!
