M’lore: Congress leaders demand dismissal of the K’taka Govt.

Mangalore, 08 February 2012: Coming on the heal of the scandal of three ministers in the Karnataka Government- CC Patil, Lakshmana Savadi and Krishna Palemar, who were caught watching porn in the Karnataka Assembly on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 while the assembly was in session, there was huge hue and cry from the opposition parties for stringent action against the three ministers in spite of the news of their resignation.
As part of this protest, Congress leaders and workers in Mangalore organised a rally in front of the District Commissioner’s Office in Mangalore on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 3 pm, burnt the effigies of the three ministers and demanded that strict action according to the law should be taken against these three ministers though they have resigned from their posts in the government.
Later, the Congress leaders presented a memorandum to the District Commissioner to be forwarded to the Governor of Karnataka seeking the dismissal of the Karnataka BJP Government on moral grounds.
The leaders present in the protest rally included Ivan D’Souza, Suresh Ballal, PV Mohan, Mamata Gatty, Yashwanti Alva, Moiddin Bawa, Hemanath Shetty and others.
Speaking at this occasion, the Congress leaders said that these three ministers have sullied the good name of the coastal Karnataka by their irresponsible and immoral act while the assembly was in session which is a shame to Indian nation and strongly demanded that the BJP Government in Karnataka should be dismissed by the Governor.
