Gates of the Rihand Dam opened after Seven Years

Renukoot, 10 September 2011: Since continuous rail fall in the past few days, the gates of the Rihand dam at Pipri Renukoot in Sonebhadra District of UP s have been opened on Saturday, September 10, 2011 after 7years. As per date the water level is 870 ft.in the dam. In the year 2003 out of 13 gates only 5 gates were opened. Today, after 7 long years, all the 13 gates have been opened.

 

 

The people of the vicinity are rushing towards the dam to have a glance of the beautiful and memorable scene of the nature. There is a high alert in the state of Jharkhand , as the water is rushing down through this state. After so many years all the turbines are working and producing  160 megawatts energy every day.
