Monthi Festh Celebration in St Antony Church Kunthal Nagar

Kunthalnagar, 09 September 2011: “Monthi  festh”(Nativity feast) celebration started with the Morning Prayer at St.Antony church Kunthalnagar at sharp 08:30 AM.

 

With the hymn “Sakkad Sangatha Melya” Children’s carrying the flowers & gathered parishioners came outside the church to offer the flower & for the paddy blessings. Due to the rain, the flower offering & Blessing of new paddy was kept entrance of the church instead of in front of grotto.

 

The main celebrant Fr. Ronald Serrao(Lecturer St.Joseph Seminary) along with parish priest Fr. Jerom  Montero  Welcomed the gathered parishioners. After the Small Prayer children’s offer the flower to the Infant Mary with the song “MORIYEK HOGOLSIYA”.Then Fr.Ronald Serrao blessed the new paddy.

 

Thereafter along with blessed paddy & enshrined statue of Infant Mary all enter the church.

 

In his homily Rev.Fr.Roni told that everyone in this earth has two mothers ,one is their own mother & one is mother of Jesus as well as ours. We as the children’s of mother marry are happy enough  to celebrate her birth day. Now a day’s our families are losing the moral value. Parents have to look after their children’s & Children’s have to give respect to the parents. Monthi fest is a symbol of Family feast & each & everyone in the family have to scarify for the unity in the family. Parishioners offered vegetables & fruits   in the offertory procession.

 

 

At the end of the mass parish priest Fr.Jerome extended the vote of thanks. He thanked Rev.Fr.Ronald serrao for celebrating the mass & all the parishioners for the help during novena time & feast day and he wish all the parishioners of the church including those who are in abroad A Happy nativity feast.

 

Then as a symbolic of thanks giving candles have been honor to the mordom & perigent of the monthi fest.

 

Thereafter Fr. Jerome distributed the blessed paddy to the members of parish council who distributed to all the parishioners as they were seated.

 

After the end of the mass all children’s & all parishioners went back with new paddy & sugar cane.

 

As the part of family feast all parishioners meet in the evening at the church premises. ICYM organized the games for the all age people which are started at 03:45PM. Games are conducted by MS. Valita lobo.

 

Prizes have been distributed to the winners by parish prist.He thanks to all for taking participation in games & ICYM members for organizing the same.

 

The entire program is ended at 06:40PM.
