Moodubelle: Computer Training Institute Inaugurated under ‘Suvarna Grama Yojane

Moodubelle, 17 Aug 2011: Under the ‘Suvarna Grama Yojane’, a computer training institute was inaugurated by the ‘Rashtriya Computer Saksharatha Samithi’, a project of Indian Government’s  Computer Literacy Movement,  at the Almeida Complex Moodubelle on Wednesday,  August 17, 2011 at 10.30 am. 

 

The inauguration programme was presided over  by Mrs. Jacinta Aranha, President of the Belle Grama Panchayat. The programme was inaugurated by Devdas Hebbar, President of the Udupi Taluk Panchayat. The computer curse was formally inaugurated by  Mrs. Ida Gibba D’Souza, member of the Udupi  Zilla Panchayat by switching on the coomputer.

 

 

In his message, Devdas Hebbar said that computer education is very important for everyone as most of the work is being done on computers not only in cities and towns, but also in the villages. Internet facilities are available even in the villages. Government has undertaken spreading computer literacy right from the school level and many students including in the government schools are being trained in operating computer. 

 

According to  Pravin Raj S. Rao, Executive Director of the  Samiti, the chief aim of the institute is to provide basic computer training to unemployed youth and others who are interested in computer literacy at concessional fees. The institute provides training for three months and issues certificates t those candidates who successfully complete the course. There are 30 students who have already enrolled through Belle Grama Panchayat for the first three months course.

 

Besides, Devdas Hebbar, Mrs. Ida Gibba D’Souza and Pravin Raj S. Rao, Mrs. Sujata Suvarna, Vice President of the Belle Grama Panchayat and Ramaappa Hithalmani, Panchayat Development Officer were on the dais.
