Moodubelle, 02 August 2011: After a bout of continuous rains for many days there was some respite on Monday, August 1, 2011 as throughout the day people were spared from the wet-spell. However, by evening it started pouring again and incessant rains continued till morning of Tuesday, August 2 and even continued till evening causing moderate flood and inundating the well grown paddy in the low-lying fields especially near the river banks.

Compared to the mega flood in the last month, this is a moderate flood, fourth in a row during this monsoon. Enterprising young men with nets venture out during the floods for catching fish. They spread their nets, leave them for few hours and pull them with the catch. Invariably some fish is bound to be trapped in the net.

Continuous rains cause not only inconvenience to human beings who with less immunity, especially children, suffer from viral fever, but also animals such as cattle, dogs and even fowl find it difficult to cope with the wet atmosphere and damp weather.

There is one ex legislator in our constituency. He elected for 5 terms.(25 years) again he stand to election for two times, but not re elected...THATS WHY THEY WASHED AN KICKED OUT FROM KARNATAKA.. Congress should search such a young dynamic candidate that he able to serve nation not to his self. Then only congress will come again. Congress is very critical condition in Karnataka. They are doing their best to survive in karnataka.

Mr Suraj i don' t bother what you are writing. In my childhood i used to go swim, fishing in ankuduru. While constructing dam i catch lots of madonjis (one kind of sweet water fish). I an writing what is the fact. once again am writing, the dam is different and bridge is different. I don't know what is the height limit of dam. Can you please mention next time in your comment. It is use full to judge the real fact. You are writing about ankuduru dam, or any different bridge?.Dam is constructed to store water in summer season.MR suraj aap bi dil pe math lo. 1std school bacha ko bi dam and bridge ka difference malum hota he. Please read once again Benedict Noronha's and Vincent Martis comment.Mr Stanley you also are making fool to readers.
Stanly, belle Wed, August-3-2011, 11:57
I dont agree with Benny and Suraj,Can anyone cross this dam in rainy season! Mr Benny you are making fool to the people Pamboor, Kabyadi.Even 3 vichels are not crossing it is better not to comment if you are not aware.
Suraj-Belle, Moodubelle Wed, August-3-2011, 11:57
Pothram after reading your comment i don t think you have any clue where Ankuduru Vented Dam is? do you know what is the limited height required for the dam from the average water level? forget it! it is beyond your imagination. Dil pe mat le yaar Pothram you do not have any Guts to comment in your real name.
Vincent Martis, Belle Wed, August-3-2011, 11:48
Seems that there is a misconception here, it is a Vented Dam at Ankudru and not a Bridge. But while constructing the Dam, upon requests they have made a provision to cross over it. Bridge design is completely different.
POTHRAM, MOODUBELLE Wed, August-3-2011, 10:51
You are right Mr Benedict Noronha .I liked your comment. You are finally cleared the matter of vented dam those who are all unknowingly writing their comments in past articles in Bellevission. and you also cleared motive of the dam. Thanks to Mr Jerald Fernandes and Small irrigation department to their effort, successful finish to the dam in couple of month. The dam is made for irrigation purpose. i think there no use if they construct more height.
Suraj-Belle, Moodubelle Wed, August-3-2011, 9:19
I don't agree with the comment of Benedict. I know you have taken pain to find out the reason why it is not completed and roads are connected from either side of the villages to the dam. Now everyone knows there is problem with the dam and they have to put it under the carpet to survive their position and seats. Even if you go to the department they will give you nice stories with the cup of tea and smile because they also aware or else people will protest them. They have to be smart to safeguard their interest. There are minimum vehicles passing from that bridge (not more than 10-15 vehicles in a day) but most important that there are farmers who can at least cross the bridge during the rainy season. This bridge should be minimum of 5 feet higher than the actual level.

Mind blowing pictures. This is one of my favourite site and I never miss going through it a single day. I wish I could go there and enjoy this lovely season.
Benedict Noronha, Udupi Wed, August-3-2011, 4:59
Beautiful flood scenes of Belle river. It is not right to comment on the Vented Dam now. After the rainy eason it is and must be useful for cross accross to padubelle-kabyadi-pambur, which is a short cut. during heavy floods even some bridges drown and traffic is made impossible. therefor not to blame the engineering and construction of the Vented Dam at Akudru. Our expectations are one thing and the project aimed at was different and to our C.M. there was money in crores but for Udupi district he restricted and caused all the damage to the political parties. Now he is facing the music. Therefore I do not agree with the comment on Vented Dam in the columns. The Engineering department hade made it clar that at the pressure of Gerald Fernandes they spent more and made it to pas small vehicles. Thanks to the Small irrigation department for being considerate.
suraj-Belle, Moodubelle Wed, August-3-2011, 12:12
Dr. Eugene thank you for your report and nice pictures. I request you to take the picture of Ankuduru vented dam during the flood. I am sure this dam is most dangerous to use during the rainy season. I personally visited and saw the engineering job is horrible and the height limit of the Vented dam is very low which is just leveling to the river. The design and engineering work is utterly nuisance. I think during the rainy season Ankuduru Dam is of NO USE.
