Padubidri: Environmental awareness program – saplings distribution

Falimaru, Padubidri, 25 July 2011: In the changing situation today the forest wealth is getting destroyed and in the coastal areas the temperature is raising year by year. With the elimination of the plants and the trees, the animals, birds and the other living creatures have difficulty to survive.  Environmental awareness programs for children should be organized during their student life itself. At home the mothers need to give priority on the preservation and maintaining of the plants and trees, said Falimaru Grama Panchayath President Lion Naveenchandra Suvarna.

 

 

He was speaking upon inauguration of “Environmental awareness and Sapling distribution program” held at Falimaru Governemnt School hall, organized by Shree Kshethra Dharmastala Gramabivradhi Yojane Falimaru Unit, on Sunday. Chief Guest of the program Journalist B. Pundalika Marathe also the Rotary District trainer, spoke on the occasion and said that, the projects of Shree Kshethra Dharmastala Gramabivradhi Yojane are contributing towards the strengthening of women community, personality development, awareness on human value and peace and harmony in the communities.

 

Prasad – Incharge of the Social Awareness section of Suzlon Company and Taluk Dairy Division Officer Suresh briefed on the significance of Vanamahothsava. Vanitha – President of Falimaru Unit presided over the function. Zonal In charge Shashikala Suvarna briefed on the plans on the projects. Other guests and dignitaries present on the dias were; Vice President Thilajakshi, Secretary Akshatha and Joint Secretary Shobha.

 

Pramoda welcomed the guests and the gathering. Jayashree compeered the program. Shilpa proposed vote of thanks.

This programme should not end with only distribution of saplings. Follow up should required from the concerned authorities and prizes should be given to those who have really taken care about the saplings and trees.
