With rising incomes, expectations rise too. Parents with means and higher expectations, chose not to admit their wards to government and aided primary, elementary, high schools and even junior colleges. The private schools are sought after at great expense. Irregularities and corrupt practices in licensing, setting norms and inspecting private educational institutions with consequent lowering of quality notwithstanding, classrooms in private schools are overcrowded. It is time parents stop chasing the private schools. Otherwise, in affluent localities, public schools will not be viable. | |
