Puttur: Students take oath to shun firecrackers in celebrating Deepavali

Puttur, 18 Oct 2017: Deepavali is a festival of light, does not need firecrackers to celebrate, therefore, we celebrate Deepavali without bursting firecrackers; that’s how the students of Ambika Vidyalaya took oath at Nellikatte PU College, near here, on Tuesday, October 17.
The students believe we are Indians worship Mother Nature that has bountiful of wildlife, birds, streams, rivers, sea and livestock. The festivals are significant to celebrate culture in order to sustain Mother Nature for mankind. Deepavali is the major festival celebrated nationwide. It conveys the message of surging towards light that is knowledge from darkness or ignorance.
Deepavali signifies lighting earthen-made diyas placed in line; that cleanses the environment and not polluting the environment by bursting firecrackers. Meanwhile, the people of present times, pursue its the festival of bursting firecrackers that cause environmental pollution, waste of money and endangers lives. The human, so called intelligent of all living beings have never learned out of major tragedies. It’s the disrespect to our forefathers who regarded Mother Nature as Laxmi. That is the concern the students of Ambika Vidyalaya that they convey to those who love bursting firecrackers. They believe clean India is healthy India.
The environmental pollution, loss of eye sight, burns all over body, wastage of money is common in the guise of Deepavali celebration. The students of Ambika Vidyalaya and Nellikatte Government PU College have set an example of taking oath to shun firecrackers in Deepavali celebration. The College correspondent Subramanya Nattoja and principal Rajashree Nattoja are supporting the students in this endevour.
