Mangaluru: Four-lane road to be laid along Netravati River linking Kannur - MLA Lobo

Mangaluru, 04 Oct 2017: The proposal is underway to lay four-lane road with separate lanes for jogging and cycling besides Netravati River till Kannur, informed Mangaluru south MLA J R Lobo to the officers who arrived here from secretariat office, Bengaluru, on Tuesday, October 3.
The stretch of the road will be about 6 kilometers that will be laid at approximate 300 acres. The state administration already released Rs 25 lac to begin the survey and there is no doubt if it’s realized it will boost business prospects of Mangaluru city, said MLA Lobo.
KUDUFC officer Ashok Bhat to begin the project at the earliest as it will become the landmark of Mangaluru city.
He further said the works will be executed under town planning project by MUDA. It was proposed to link Sagar Mala linking Mangaluru Old Port and NMPT by building a bridge at Sultan Battery. An international sports village will be constructed near Kuloor, here, to make it world class city, said MLA Bhat.
Ashok Bhat took a boat ride to view the project site along Netravati River till Kannur.
MUDA president K Suresh Ballal, municipal commissioenr Srinat Rao, PWD officials were present.
