Mangaluru: Nemoda Boolya, Tulu movie premiered in theaters across DK & Udupi

Mangaluru, 23 Sep 2017: Tulu movies and theater contributed significantly for the growth of Tulu language, said A C Bhandary, president of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy.
Bhandary was speaking during the premier of Tulu movie, Nemoda Boolya, produced by Chandrashekar Mada and directed by B K Gangadhar Kirodian, at Big Cinemas, Bharat Mall, here, on Saturday, September 23.
He urged the people of coastal district to support the movie that has a social message by viewing it in the theaters, urged Bhandary.
Bantara Yane Nadavara Matra Sangha president Ajit Kumar Rai Malady said, ‘Nemoda Boolya, the movie is based on a true incident that sheds light on a brave woman who struggled against the oppression by the upper castes in the bygone era.
The renowned Yakshagana Bhagavat Patla Satish Shetty hoped it becomes a blockbuster movie as it was produced with total reverence by Chandrashekar Mada.
Dayanand Kattalsar, former member of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy said that the movie is based on true incident that had taken place in Bettampady in Puttur taluk of DK district 2 centuries ago. It hovers on a woman who challenged the oppressor and punished him dearly albeit safeguarding her modesty.
Chandrashekar Mada was hopeful that the viewers will patronize the movie that is different from usual movies.
The veterans of Tulu filmdom – T A Srinivas, Dr Sanjeev Dandekeri, Devdas Kapikad, Vijayakumar Kodialbail, Kishore D Shetty, Prakash Pandeshwar, V G Pal, Rajesh Brahmavar, R Dhanaraj, Shivanand Karkera, Bhaskar Rai Kukkuvalli, Suraj Shetty, Taranat Shetty Bolar, NRK Vishwanat, Dr Asha Jyoti Rai, Sachin Uppinangady, Rajesh Kudla, Prem Shetty Suratkal, Pradeep Alva Kadri, Sadanand Perla, music director V Manohar, actor Rajani, cameraman Umapati, director Gangadhar Kirodian, Chandrashekar Mada, Shabari Mada and Subaschandra Mada were present.
Purushottam Bhandary Adyar compered the programme.
