Mangaluru: Incessant rains cause havoc across city

Mangaluru, 18 Sep 2017: The incessant rains that have been lashing since a few days across Dakshina Kannada district caused havoc to homes and compound walls.
The homes and shops located on low-lying areas in Mangaluru city were inundated owing to torrential rains that lashed on Sunday, September 17 night.
The compound wall and kitchen of Jagdish Rai’s home at Yeyyady, here was damaged owing to torrential. The loss has been ascertained to be around Rs 3 lac.
The boundary wall of an under construction apartment complex at St Aloysius College Road collapsed damaging cars and 2-wheelers parked in parking lot.
Torrential rains to continue for 4 more days
DK district Deputy Commissioner Dr Jagadeesha issued orders to Tahsildars of all taluks of DK district and other officials to be stationed at their respective headquarters to respond to any alerts about the rain fury.
