Corporation Bank bags Union Govt’s Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar

Mangaluru, 15 Sep 2017: Corporation Bank bagged the ‘Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar’ instituted by Department of Official Language, Union Ministry of Home Affairs. The bank was awarded second prize under nationalised banks category of ‘C’ region for excellent implementation of official language policy of the central government in its offices and branches spread across the country.
Jai Kumar Garg, Managing Director and CEO, Corporation Bank received the award from Indian President Ramnath Kovind at an award ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, in the presence of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other dignitaries on September 14.
The bank is also the convener of Mangaluru town official language committee, constituted under the aegis of Union Ministry of Home Affairs and is chaired by Jai Kumar Garg. The committee comprises 35 offices of the central government, 18 offices of public sector and 30 banks as its members.
Corporation Bank, besides enhancing the usage of official language, Hindi in government offices and in the offices of TOLIC, continues to take Hindi language into the minds the people through many innovative programs.
